The absence of expedient, accurate pet information is a major factor in the deaths of millions of pets annually.
Animal Issues
magazine, in its summer 2001 edition (Vol 32, No.2) estimated that 8 million dogs and cats are euthanized each year and the National Animal Control Association in a survey of 4700 shelters found 56.4% dogs and 71.0% of cats entering the shelters were euthanized in 2004. Of the total number of animals entering the NACA surveyed shelters only 15.8% of dogs and 2% of cats were returned to their owners.
The initial impetus for forming PerfecTech was the software design and development of Docu-Pet® which documents an animal’s history and produces rabies and health certificates. With a population of 190,000,000+ domestic pets in the US market alone and an average of over $1,500.00 per year spent on pet care, we believe the market potential for this offering is very timely.
In July, 2005, PerfecTech was asked by two local veterinarians to revive the Docu-Pet program to help assist in the documenting of the pets as well as helping to assist in the location of the animals. These veterinarians have assisted in the detail development of the program and are providing facilities for testing, pilot programs, and customer feedback to ensure a very positive customer experience.
PerfecTech has completed the software development, including an automated interface with the country’s largest distributed veterinarian office software (Avimark). A pilot program for this offering was installed at Lancaster Veterinarian Clinic (Lancaster, TX) in late Sept. 2005 and is currently successfully utilized in their local environment. PerfecTech is also working with a distributor of our product suite in the U.K. and anticipates a launch of this product in Europe in 2008.
The Docu-Pet offering is providing the health history, photos, etc. of the pet in release one will be available by merely accessing a web site. At this point the owner may update basic information related to any address changes or notes to the file. The owner may also select to print off a copy of the animals’ health record and a health certificate for the purpose of transporting the animal or entry into any of a variety of pet shows.
Providing a method to ensure full and accurate information on the pet. This will enable the Vet to both identify and help in the health maintenance of your pet.
